SELC in North Carolina

From the mountains to the coast, North Carolina boasts some of the most breathtaking landscapes and special places anywhere in the country. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which straddles the North Carolina/Tennessee border, has been recognized for its unparalleled diversity of plants and animals and draws nearly 10 million visitors a year. Our coast attracts outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds - from anglers to birdwatchers tracking rare migratory birds. But as forest protections are rolled back at the federal level and unchecked commercial and residential development threaten our coast, we risk losing these valuable resources forever.

SELC has a history of success in protecting North Carolina's environment. Our North Carolina conservation team includes 13 attorneys focusing all or part of their time on the conservation needs of this state. We serve North Carolina from our Carolinas office in Chapel Hill, NC and a satellite office in Asheville, NC.
