Disappointing Decision

In October 2012, the North Carolina Environmental Management Commission upheld a state permit that allows PCS Phosphate to expand its mining operations through some five miles of streams and nearly 4,000 acres of wetlands near the mouth of the Pamlico River�the largest authorized destruction of wetlands in the state�s history.
