North Carolina legislature keeps renewable and energy efficiency standards in place

SELC is applauding the North Carolina legislature’s rejection of an attempt to eliminate the state’s Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standard. The bill, which requires investor-owned utilities to source certain percentage of retail electricity sales with renewable energy, has made North Carolina 8th in the nation in total installed solar capacity.
