Mallory, who has more than 35 years of experience in environmental law and policy, previously served as General Counsel of the White House Council on Environmental Quality and held multiple leadership positions during her 14-year career at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. After serving as Executive Director for the Conservation Litigation Project, she joined SELC to lead its regulatory policy work at the federal and state levels.
In response to President-elect Biden’s announcement, SELC Executive Director Jeff Gleason released the following statement:
“There is no one better suited to lead the critical work ahead to tackle climate change and restore environmental protections that we have long depended on. Brenda has the insight, experience, courage, and commitment to address the urgent environmental challenges we face. She is a wonderful lawyer, colleague, and leader, and I have no doubt her taking on this role positions us for a better, healthier, more equitable environmental future. SELC’s loss is the country’s gain.”
