Senior Attorney Deborah Murray named BBRF Conservationist of the Year

The Back Bay Restoration Foundation has named Senior Attorney Deborah Murray as Conservationist of the Year for her work protecting the Back Bay. The area has suffered pollution and development damage since the 1970s, but has improved in recent years. Deborah, representing BBRF and Friends of Back Bay, won a victory in the Fourth Circuit in 2012, in which the Court ruled that the Army Corps of Engineers should have prepared a full environmental review for a proposed commercial marina. The project is now on hold until the Corps completes the environmental review and reexamines its permit decision.

Deborah was honored at a BBRF event on November 24. Read the press release here.
