Special Places & Wildlife

The Southeast is one of the most biologically diverse regions in the world.  Our law and policy team is committed to safeguarding large swaths of critical habitat that the South’s range of fish and animals depend on. SELC has undertaken many projects to protect  endangered and at-risk species, including migratory songbirds and waterfowl, the red-cockaded woodpecker, right whale, red wolf, and sea turtles.
