Brian L. Gist
Senior Attorney
Brian is a leading advocate on the connection between Georgia’s air quality, transportation, and land use, including the impacts of highways, transit and other transportation projects. Brian also works to protect Georgia’s national forests and against the threat posed to Cumberland Island National Seashore by a proposed spaceport.
“Transportation is not only the leading source of greenhouse gas emissions, but directly affects the quality of life for all Georgians. Building a better, more sustainable transportation system is a win-win,” he said. ”We’ve spent decades trying to fix Atlanta’s congestion by building bigger roads, and yet we are still stuck in traffic. We need a better solution.”
Brian has consistently advocated to reduce our reliance on driving by expanding transit service and building more walkable, bikeable communities.
