Deaderick C. Montague
First President of Lyndhurst Foundation
Co-founder, Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise
As the first president of Lyndhurst Foundation, Mr. Montague led a City and County Task Force to re-imagine Chattanooga’s future during a three-year, open planning process resulting in transformation of the city with 20-miles of riverfront, including parks, trails, conservation lands, and a major aquarium. He co-created Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise, among the country’s largest program for 10 years to upgrade housing, leveraging private grants with a multitude of public funds. He was appointed by the Florida Governor to help plan and create a state forest of 15,000 acres, preservation of wetlands, three new state parks, and four miles of public beaches adjoined by four new-urbanist townships. Mr. Montague has degrees from the University of Virginia and Johns Hopkins.
