Denise Holman

Senior Foundations Manager

Denise manages the mechanics of a multi-faced fundraising program that includes major foundations, family foundations, and community foundations. She oversees proposal and report packages from start to finish and works in close partnership with SELC’s leadership and 80-plus attorneys to shape and articulate the organization’s law and policy goals, action plans, and benchmarks. The vast majority of Denise’s career has been in the nonprofit world, and with SELC, she found an organization that melds her passion for nonprofit work and her love of nature and dedication to preserving it for future generations.

She has lived in Virginia all of her life, growing up in McKenney, a small town outside of Petersburg. She now lives in Charlottesville. As a child, she enjoyed family vacations to the Outer Banks — a tradition she and her husband have kept going with her own children.
