Elizabeth Hundt
Legal/Administrative Assistant
Elizabeth handles legal filings and research on water, energy, and transportation issues for SELC attorneys. She also performs climate research and serves as an administrative aide to SELC’s Climate Analyst. She assists SELC’s Federal Regulatory Director with regulatory tracking on environmental impact comment periods, and assists SELC administrative staff with data management tasks. The organization turns to Elizabeth to review all SELC presentations.
Elizabeth grew up and attended college in Augusta, Georgia, before moving to Charleston to work as a legal assistant for a civil litigation defense firm. She ran the firm’s satellite office operations as the sole administrator and paralegal.
At SELC, Elizabeth is passionate about work “defending the Clean Water Act, promoting sustainable transmission standards, and researching coastal adaptation and transmission electrification standards,” she said. “I deeply desire a purposeful career path that reflects my passion for preserving nature and coastal waterways.”
An avid sailor, Elizabeth pinpoints Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina, as a special place in the southeast.
“I grew up visiting this beach and the Lowcountry every summer, competing in sailing regattas,” she said. “Sailing gave me an on-the-water perspective of the South’s coastal beauty.”
