George Nolan
Director, Tennessee Office
George’s lifelong appreciation for Tennessee’s natural beauty and long career in litigation make him an incredible asset in our Nashville office. He leads the office’s work to safeguard the state’s beautiful rivers, streams and lakes and the communities connected to them. George grew up on a farm an hour west of Nashville where he still spends time. His rural upbringing left him especially connected to the forests, creeks, rivers and farms throughout the Central Basin and Western Highland Rim.
George’s case work includes protecting the Memphis Sand Aquifer, the sole source of drinking water for much of West Tennessee, and the Duck River, one of the most pristine and biodiverse rivers in the world. George brings 30 years of litigation and trial experience to SELC’s Tennessee work, and he enjoys collaborating and learning with his SELC colleagues.
