Hutton Brown
Senior Attorney
Hutton oversees SELC’s litigation in Georgia related to the Clean Water Act. These cases range from pollution from pulp mills and textile miles to concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs) that discharge manure or wastewater into a natural or manmade ditch, stream or other waterway. Hutton has also worked on coal ash and coal waste disposal cases, and shared his expertise with fellow SELC attorneys working on Clean Water Act cases across the six states SELC serves.
“We’ve had good results in big cases, and it’s always gratifying to get your clients what they want and do some good environmental work at same time,” Hutton said.
I enjoy the work at SELC and the people, and that makes it more fun.
Hutton Brown
“I feel like it’s worthwhile, and SELC is a great organization.”
Hutton’s career has included preserving and protecting coastal areas in Georgia, and Jekyll Island is a family favorite. “It’s beautiful, undeveloped and I really like it there,” Hutton said.
