As head of Human Resources, Lydia helps employees navigate policies, benefits, and performance tools, keeps policies aligned with SELC’s culture and goals, and ensures compliance with benefits, policies, and pay procedures. Her goal is happy, supported employees who are set up to succeed. Lydia takes great pride in SELC’s victories.

Lydia worked her way up through the ranks at SELC, starting out as a receptionist in 2007 and soon becoming a legal assistant and then an executive assistant to the Deputy Director and Director of Finance and Administration. After obtaining her Master’s Degree, she returned to SELC in 2012 as a Human Resources Coordinator, then moved up to Human Resources Manager before taking on the role of Director of Human Resources.

Born in Albemarle County just outside Charlottesville, Lydia spent some time living in larger cities like Philadelphia and Denver, but returned to Charlottesville to raise her family. She loves to take her family camping in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
