Megan C. Gibson
Senior Attorney
Megan C. Gibson is a senior attorney focused on energy policy at the federal level and across the region. Prior to joining SELC, she was Chief Counsel at the Niskanen Center, where she led the center’s legal strategy, providing critical oversight and expert analysis.
She skillfully navigates interactions with governmental bodies at all levels, utilizing filings, discussions, and legal actions to advocate effectively—all with an eye toward modernizing our grid and cutting the reliance on fossil fuels. Gibson has particular expertise in project siting and permitting, linear infrastructure projects, and meaningful engagement with affected communities and landowners, all born from many years of representing impacted parties against various regulatory agencies.
She continues to draw on her background as a litigator formally in private practice, where she secured significant victories in complex disputes against both governmental and corporate adversaries. She is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia, Maryland, New York, and Virginia and was recognized as a “Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers Rising Star.”
