Working at SELC combines Scott’s love of the outdoors with his keen marketing mind. In his role as Senior Communications Manager, he supports SELC’s Nashville office as well as managing regional issues like the organization’s public lands and solar work. This has included driving public comments on major proposals from the U.S. Forest Service, developing a website to track the cost of going solar across the region, and securing placements for SELC spokespeople with outlets like The New York Times, Outside magazine, and others.
Scott also uses his marketing background working with brands like World Wildlife Fund, Coca-Cola Sustainability, and Atlanta’s High Museum of Art to bring new audiences to SELC. By testing and measuring various outreach opportunities and developing eye-catching content, he delivers high impact campaigns on issues important to SELC.
When outside of work, Scott is most likely to be found on a tennis court or hiking trails around the Southeast. Two of his favorite hiking spots are the Linville Gorge in North Carolina and Georgia’s Okefenokee Swamp.
