Spencer Gall
Senior Attorney
Spencer works across SELC’s region to stop gas-fired power plants and gas pipelines that would carve through Southern landscapes and waters while locking the South into decades of expensive and dirty power instead of reliable and affordable clean energy. Spencer also works on SELC’s Forest Team to protect wild places like the national forests of the Southern Appalachians and to ensure the public has a voice in how our public lands are managed.
“My love of wild places and wild rivers, and my desire to protect those places and share them with others, drew me to a career in environmental law,” says Spencer.
I’ve always been someone with a strong sense of place, and I work at SELC because it’s personally important to me to know the people and the places that are at stake.
Spencer Gall
Spencer is most proud of SELC’s fights against destructive gas pipeline projects like the now-cancelled Atlantic Coast Pipeline and the embattled Mountain Valley Pipeline.
A native of the West Coast, Spencer moved to Virginia to join SELC. His favorite spot in the SELC region: “There are almost too many beautiful places to pick just one, but Goshen Pass on the Maury River in Virginia is very close to my heart. I’m an avid kayaker and this stretch of the Maury has provided me with many great adventures and brought close friends into my life.”
