Tess Benjamin
Legal/Administrative Assistant
Tess provides legal and administrative support to four SELC attorneys, proofreading and formatting briefs, comment letters and other documents, as well as preparing hearing binders, filing pleadings with the court, scheduling meetings, and submitting expenses. She also tracks Freedom of Information Act requests and assists with the hiring process of the Glynn D. Key Fellowship position. She is particularly energized by SELC’s endangered species work and the organization’s efforts to stop pollution from Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations.
Born and raised in Sante Fe, N.M., Tess spent 11 years in California before moving to Durham, N.C. One of her favorite places is Pisgah National Forest, with its amazing peaks and views and beautiful waterfalls.
