William H. Schlesinger
President Emeritus, Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies
Dr. Schlesinger is President, Emeritus of the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies and a noted authority on global environmental change. For 27 years he was on the faculty of Duke University, where he retired as dean of the Nicholas School of the Environment and Earth Sciences and professor of biogeochemistry. Dr. Schlesinger was elected to the National Academy of Sciences in 2003, and his research has been featured in Scientific American, National Geographic and The New York Times and on PBS’s NOVA.
