SELC Op-Ed Lauds TDOT for Forward-Thinking Transportation Planning Initiatives

SELC's Anne Davis (Managing Attorney, Tennessee) and Trip Pollard (Leader, Land and Community Program) co-authored a featured December 8 op-ed that commends the Tennessee Department of Transportation for two forward-thinking transportation planning initiatives: the Multi-Modal Access Grant Fund, and the regional Offices of Community Transportation. The new Grant Fund supports enhancement of pedestrian, bicycle, and transit infrastructure, and the Offices of Community Transportation will serve to better harmonize transportation and land use.  These developments signal a state agency's commitment to moving away from an asphalt-centric approach to transportation planning, and towards smarter growth.
