Legal Victory Brings Hope for the Chesapeake Bay

An alliance of conservation groups including SELC has helped EPA block an attempt to derail the last, best hope for restoring the Chesapeake Bay. A federal judge has upheld EPA’s water quality restoration plan for the Bay, which was challenged in court by agriculture and homebuilder groups. SELC was part of the legal team defending the plan, which continues to face legal threats.

SELC worked with a coalition of conservation partners to help shape the plan, which is our best chance for restoring the Bay’s ecosystem and providing cleaner water to communities throughout its vast watershed.
