Holly Hueston
Director of Finance and Administration
As Director of Finance and Administration, Holly leads the Finance and Human Resources teams of professionals with expertise in accounting, finance, and HR with an ongoing aim of attracting great people to SELC – and keeping them. Together, they ensure SELC’s priorities and benchmarks align with the mission and goals.
Holly’s finance team has tallied fifteen years of exceptional audits and detailed 990 filings, with accompanying high scores at both Charity Navigator and Guidestar. Attention to detail and financial accountability gives donors and partners the confidence to join SELC in our mission to protect the Southeast’s health and environment. Holly’s role is central to SELC’s success as a mission-driven organization with more than 180 employees working across a six-state region. She also guides and empowers the dedicated administrative staff, who have a unique mix of skills, experience, and specialties working as the central hub to support SELC’s legal and communications work.
Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma and Dallas, Texas, Holly moved her family to Charlottesville in 1994. Her business acumen served her well when working in the Finance Departments at University of Virginia Medical Center and CFA Institute.
Holly was drawn to SELC because the work closely aligns with her personal values. She takes particular pleasure in watching the continued retirement of power plants in our region and seeing the Atlantic remain free from offshore oil drilling rigs.
Away from work Holly enjoys running, gardening, drawing, and spending time with her family enjoying Virginia’s Piedmont region and the nearby Blue Ridge Mountains.
