Tennessee Valley Authority to Retire Units at Three Coal Plants

The Tennessee Valley Authority announced November 14, 2013 that it would retire eight units at three of its coal plants in northern Alabama and western Kentucky. These retirements total 3,308 megawatts and combined will prevent over 15 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
