Noa supports SELC’s North Carolina climate change work. She writes content for the website, including news feeds and press releases; she assists with SELC’s Broken Ground podcast, and helps attorneys prepare for media interviews.
“I’ve loved writing for as long as I can remember, and I truly believe that great storytelling is key to the environmental fight,” Noa said. “It’s an honor to work with an organization that tells such truthful, thoughtful environmental stories—from pushing back on greenwashed narratives, to making the beautiful places SELC protects feel tangible to an online audience, to highlighting the work of the incredibly dedicated environmental justice activists in our region.”
Based in Chapel Hill, Noa is looking forward to progress on the North Carolina Carbon Plan, the topic of a news feed series which she helped plan and write. She calls it “an exciting challenge to learn about and communicate the sometimes wonky energy topics that have so much impact on our climate and people’s everyday lives.”
Noa grew up in Virginia Beach, only a few blocks from the Atlantic Ocean. “Nothing beats being back in the summertime with my hometown friends swimming in the ocean and sneaking into hotel pools with the tourists,” she said. “I’m looking forward to finding a swimming spot in the Triangle that wins my heart over.”
