Patrick Hunter
Managing Attorney, Asheville Office
Patrick now manages the Asheville office, which includes SELC’s work in western North Carolina as well as issues involving public lands in the region. He has been a part of regional litigation teams focused on the Atlantic Coast Pipeline and coal ash cleanup.
After an SELC internship, he devoted his professional legal career to SELC because of the profound sense of purpose that comes from “anytime we can make a difference on the ground—whether that’s protecting an animal that can’t speak up for itself or helping a community fight for clean water,” he says.
A native North Carolinian, Patrick grew up in New Bern, attended college and law school in Chapel Hill and enjoys the diverse water features of the Tar Heel State. His beloved destinations are the fast-flowing rivers of western North Carolina and the saltwater marshes of eastern North Carolina.
I do this work to protect the places I love and secure a better environment for everyone.
