Rachel Chu

Legal/Administrative Assistant

B.A., Sewanee: University of the South, Order of the Gown

Former Head Counselor, Sewanee Environmental Institute

 With SELC since 2018

Rachel does research for attorneys, copy editing, receives and processes cold calls, and performs other administrative tasks. She also helps with filing court documents. She’s proud of SELC’s work to convince Tennessee Valley Authority to clean up millions of tons of coal ash at its Gallatin Fossil Plant.

Born in Memphis, Rachel now lives in Nashville. Her favorite hiking trail is Potter’s Ridge in Sewanee, Tenn. She was on the inaugural hike with the Sewanee Outing Program after the trail opened, and fondly remembers exploring Lost Cove during the Walking the Land course with the trail’s namesake, Dr. Bran Potter.

The key to SELC’s success is our people. Consider joining our team to defend this region’s air, water, and natural treasures.
