SELC highlights major flaws with bypass study

SELC has submitted a detailed set of comments to state and federal agencies outlining serious errors in VDOT’s recent study of the impacts the proposed bypass would have on our community. SELC’s comments call on VDOT and the Federal Highway Administration to prepare a proper impact study that provides, among other things, an objective comparison of the proposed bypass to the better solutions the community has developed. This information is crucial to the ability of the public and government officials to make an informed decision about whether the project is worth the tremendous damage it would cause and the $250 million of taxpayer funding it would cost.
